Hello all...
I came across this site while looking for some answers into the untimely death of my best friend Sarbjeet "Shaba" in 1991. From what I know Sarbjeet was a highly respected Sikh who studied MBA at GNDU until he had a dispute with BTF's Gulwinder Singh Galna.
Galna called the truce but played a cowardly game by kidnapping "Shaba" while he was visiting his family in Buttari. Shaba's was never returned to his family nor his body was ever recovered. Rumors floated around that he was tortured by Galna and his crew before being burnt alive because Shaba refused to bow to a crook like Galna.
Shaba was a true devoted Sikh who fought for those who couldn't fight for themselves. I would really appreciate any input or if anyone could share anything regarding Shaba's life and maybe his death...
20 years have passed and I have not been able to have closure on Shaba's death... maybe Singh's on this site will be able to shed light on what actually happened.
I want to write about Shaba's life and death... and this is my humble attempt to gather some info from Veers on this site. Shaba's family lived a nightmare for a year looking for him everywhere they could but never found their loved son.. I remember the days when his father used to look for his son's body in the fields at night. For your reference Shaba was a very close associate of Manpreet Singh (Babbar Khalsa) village Buttari. This was the main reason that Shaba stood in the way of Gulwinder Galna when he tried to extort some people from his village.
Soon after Shaba's kidnapping there was a press release from Sukhdev Singh Babbar and other prominent Jathebandis appealing Shaba's release. Shaba was a great friend who had helped hundreds of needy people before meeting his shahidi in hands of a crook like Galna.
Please help me gather some facts so I can post some of the stuff I witnessed during those times.
Sarb
