meat is bad meat is bad meat is bad!! [:D]
but people just don't get it!!
i used to eat meat!! i had halal before ( the muslim meat) and honestly i didnt feel bad having it!
its the same thing as having the regular meat!!
you cant be amrit thari and still eat meat
saintly people = supposed to be compassionate!!
and you cant be that and act saintly!!
countless nihangs eat it and it is wrong!!
gurbani teaches compassion!! saintliness!!
sadly people try to change the sikhi ways to fit their own preferences!
some say it isnt important to keep kesh some stuff totally different stuff!!
but sikhi is what it is, rehitnama says its wrong therefore IT IS WRONG!!

there are countless gurbani lines saying meat is wrong but people choose to ignore them!
there is only one amrit SGPC allowed "pro meateater amrit" and its so wrong... .

normal people can eat meat if they want to
its a choice like keeping kesh is but eating it after u have taken amrit is nothin but bad!!!!

Could you be kind enough to tell me these lines with page numbers . You seems to have better knowledge so will agree that no individual line of gurbani makes the sence it is whole sabad what makes the sence. So please that will be good if you can mention the whole sabads rather than single lines.

i don't know the exact line but there is one that talks about how pandhits dont eat meat but then they slander others and do other bad stuff. it shows that.. eating meat is seen as a bad thing by guru just like slandering others is!
the shbd is by guru nanak dev ji and funny thing is that meat eaters use those quotes to justify that it is okay to eat meat they say tht o look guru jis saying that padhits don't eat meat.. and then go on slandering...= that means guru is okay w/ us eating it.. they argue to satisfy their own pleasures and tastes.. and that is what people of other faiths have done.. they change things to make it easier to folllow..
we are supposed to see jot in all beings..
we arent supposed to eat other beings just to satisfy our own hunger.. but if we are in a situation where we have to eat it then its okay cos guru ji talks about its natural for one animal to eat another to survive.. but its not saintly to kill other animals and eat them when we have other options that could satisfy our hunger
people argue that vegies are also from living being arent we hurting them NO WE AREN'T because they are just swelled up ovaries! safe to eat.. and doesnt require killing another being for taste...

how would u feel if u were a pig and were brutually stabbed to death and then fried with spices.. and eaten? not good! well i bet other animals that we eat for our taste dnt feel too pleasant either..
we are soo kind to the dogs we pet them look after them (cos our culture tells us to) but then we fry other animals were our own taste!! (cos our culutre tells us to) we want to do what the trend is or what our heart tells us to do .. !! i am being a hypocrite right now cos i aint a gurmukh either i dnt walk on gurus path but i would never deny something that is right just to prove myself "right"

Thank you bhen ji,
I justy asked for those sabad where gurbani condemning from eating meat not your view. I know your view, your view are we must not eat meat but we can eat meat when it comes to save our lives. If that is case then what is the meaning of "Sikhi sidak akhari sivasa (last breath) tak nibhe" If life is more important than 'sikhi sidak' then why so many Great sikhs lost their lives instead they could have saved their lives by cutting their hairs and by breaking other rules they were asked to break to save their lives. Why breaking other rules of sikhi ji loosing 'sikhi sidak' and eating meat to save life is not loosing the 'sikhi sidak'.

Anyway bhen ji this is endless discussion, please let me know those sabad I have been always listening from my childhood that there are sabads no body tells me which one. If you could assist me with this, that will be kind of you. Thank you.

I never heard that about Banda Singh Bhadur.. I used to eat meat when i wasn't into Sikhi but know that I know more about Sikhi According to Sikh Teachings I would never think that Meat is okay. Sikhi Teaches Compassion.. Humility.. and one cant be compasssionate and still eat meat..! these don't click!!

People come up w/ weird stuff all the time they say that Guru Nanak Dev ji wore janeau.. and stuff like that.. They want to make Sikhs deluded by Doubt.. They don't know anything for sure.. one person comes up w/ something negative to say and others play along.. they have learned to doubt.. shaheedis that took place in the past... like Baba Deep Singh Jis Shaheedi..
I am Fed up w/ people and the things they say.Today they have weakened Akal Takhat so much that we Sikhs really have No Physical Power to regulate us I mean No Leader.. like Sant ji.. and other Gurmukh Leaders like we had in the past..! Now we have people like Badal that prolly wear Topi under their Pagh!!!

I have learned that we should just believe in Gurbani Learn from Gurbani and Ignore every controversial thing we hear people say.. Afterall people just say lies to cover up their own weakenesses and Flaws..!! (People that want to eat meat would lie about Gurus Eating it Sikh hereos eating it/ misinterpret Gurbani to prove such things!)
