Thank you bhen ji,
You are talking about 80s, very good I dont know how old are you but I have seen that time I was still child but I have some memories. You are talking about having tattoos for sikhs who laid their lives. We are not talking about any great sikhs's personnel lives we talking about having tattoos, your keep on mentioning names of shaheed sings I dont know how that is answer to questions. They were great people and they had great love for sikhi and Guru ji, but had they ever said anywhere that having tattoos is wrong. you are saying that sikhs should not alter their body anyhow, that means going to gym making musles is also issue because that also altering the body. I dont know why you people want sikhs to always look so separated from the world that they are superiors than others, Guru ji kept on calling themself dsan ke das.
Please prove your point by giving sabad from Guru Shaib ji, dont give the example of sants becuase sants never talked about having or not having tattoos. Other thing is I would like to be sikh of guru ji not sikh of any sant, Sants were sants because Guru ji made them sant. So lets talk about Gurbani and give me any sabad which says altering body is sin please note having tattoo is not altering body but decorating the body.
Now about 80, I have seen many singhs had written their name on their arms, i dont remember that people used to have tattoos that time but written 'Ekk Onkar" in punjabi and their name was common and people had that. Other thing about 80s that I have seen now there are thousands and lakhs of fans of Sant ji ( Sant Jarnail Singh ji Bhindernwala) I remember that he had many fans before 1984 too but as soon as after the attack it was hard to find his fan, people did not want to talk about him. I remember in my village there was family belonging to Tarkhan community. Their son had a cassette with speeches of sant ji, I remember what police did to them and after that in whole village and villages near by never used to talk about Sant ji. Just now police has loosen the laws and I have seen people again back with his stickers on everywhere. What i am saying is i have idea of 80s. I had two uncles who was army and then were arrested as sikhs army tried to protect the attack on Darbar Shaib ji, now days there are called dharam fozi but those days people used to not sit with them as police was always keeping eye on them. Only reason I was telling all that because I have good experience of 80's. I have seen singhs written their names and 'ekk onkar' on their hand and arms. Otherwise that is not our subject.
Our Subject is about tattoos and you saying Saheed Singh never did it , but did they ever condemned it that is the point , there should have other 1000 thing they did not do but did they condemn doing those 1000 things that is the point. So please tell me that if it is not allowed why it is not allowed and where it is condemned in Gurbani.
